How we let you know

Every product in the display case and in the Catalogue has its allergens marked with a round icon, one per allergen. That way you see them at a glance, before you choose your treat.

In the shop you also have the written information on every product, as the rules require for food sold unpackaged (EU Regulation 1169/2011 and Real Decreto 126/2015). Just ask: we are happy to show it to you.

Our display case changes often and recipes can vary. The information that counts is the one for the day: if you have an allergy, always ask us before you buy, even if you already know the product.

The ones we use at the counter

These are the allergens that go into our recipes. They are not in every product: each one carries only its own.

  • Gluten

Wheat flour in sponges, doughs, pastries and biscuit bases.

  • Egg

Sponges, creams, meringues and many doughs.

  • Dairy

Butter, cream, milk and cream cheese in fillings and toppings.

  • Tree nuts

Almond, hazelnut, pistachio or walnut in fillings, pralines and decorations.

  • Soya

Soya lecithin in some chocolates and coatings.

  • Peanuts

Only in certain products, which have it marked.

  • Sesame

Only in certain products, which have it marked.

  • Sulphites

Some candied fruits, and wines or liqueurs in syrups.

The ones we don't use

Of the fourteen allergens that must be declared in the European Union, these do not go into any of our recipes.

  • Crustaceans
  • Fish
  • Molluscs
  • Celery
  • Mustard
  • Lupin

Traces and cross-contamination

Everything is made by hand at a single counter: we share surfaces, utensils and ovens, and flour travels through the air more than it seems. We clean carefully between preparations, but we cannot guarantee that a product is free of traces of other allergens.

If you have a severe allergy or are coeliac, tell us before you choose and we will honestly tell you what we can offer you. We only call a product gluten-free when it has been verified (under 20 mg of gluten per kilo), and then you will see it with its label.

Reservations and orders

When you reserve a cake by WhatsApp or by phone, tell us if anyone has an allergy or intolerance. We will confirm what it contains and whether we can adapt it. If we cannot do it safely, we will tell you.

What you tell us about allergies we only use to prepare your order. More details in Privacy.
